Hi, I’m Alex Mason.
I’m a Ph.D. student of linguistics at Michigan State University, focusing on variationist sociolinguistics. My committee includes Suzanne Evans Wagner (my advisor), Karthik Durvasula, Gabriela Alfaraz, and Yen-Hwei Lin. I’m currently working on research examining the vowels here in Lansing, Michigan. You can read about what else I’m doing on my research page. I teach LIN 200 (Introduction to Language), supervised by Alan Munn. I have also taught classes for LIN 401 (Introduction to Linguistics) and filled in to teach LIN 471 (Sociolinguistics) at MSU, as well as IDIS 150 (Language and Power) at Calvin College.
